Return to Index

Nov. the 7, 1889
Isabel, Kans.

Dear Uncle & Aunt & Cousins

As Uncle Late is writing to you I will put in a word or two. Well this is a dark stormy night. This leaves us all well and hope these lines will find you enjoying the same good blessings of health. Well Mabel it is so lonesome since you left. I do not have anybody to talk to of Saturdays now but Lily & the cat & Frisk. every where I go Frisk starts to follow me. Mabel if you was [here] you could get some snow it eat. Dick we are having a fine Literary. The only thing George dont hurry it enough. hurry and get your visit out and come & be President for you must make things fly. last Saturday night we just had a "boss time".

Mrs Horton came up with us & had to go back the next day for Mamie was taken sick & they sent for her. Well Aunt Helen now a word or two to you. Well it has been some time since I got your letter. I have been so busy going to school that I dont get time to write to anybody. Aunt Helen do not worry about Grandpa for he is allright. I wish you would come home with Dick & Mabel. tell ross and Blanche to write to me. I am making me a new dress that Dick & Late got me before Dick left. am making a polanise back & basque. I will send you a piece of it. it is trimed in black velvet. I would like to come back there and see all the folks. I'll bet they would not know me. I doubt whether you would know me or not. but you bet I would know you. Pa says Ma can go back next fall if nothing happens. aunt Helen, I believe if you would come to Kans you would feel better so I think you had better sell out & come to Kans. Mabel now you bring me them apples that you said you would. I am waiting patiently for them. I want some so bad it makes my "mouth" water. well Ross & Blanche I expect you are going to school & wading mud to your knees. and if you were in Kans you would not have to do that. well when I get rich I am coming back to see you all. Well my paper is about full and is after eight oclock. Well I have said enough you will get tired of reading this it is so poorly written. Write soon. I remain as ever.

Your Loving Neice and Cousin Jennie White

Mabel we got you an awful pretty card out of coffee. hurry and come back & get it.
