Devan |
John Devan was born in about 1849 in or near Hopwood, Fayette County, the son of John and Mary Ann (Minerd) Devan.
He may be the same John Devan who, just a few weeks shy of his 19th birthday, died of consumption (tuberculosis) on Feb. 7, 1868. A short notice of his death was published in the local newspaper, the Uniontown Genius of Liberty.
