Mary E. McFarland was born in about 1847 in or near Mt. Perry, Perry County, OH, the daughter of Alexander and Sarah (Danison) McFarland. Her story is hazy and possibly lost to history. It is likely that she married Isaac K. Graver ( ? - ? ) on Oct. 19, 1873, when Mary would have been age 26, but this needs to be confirmed. Rev. B.F. Thomas, a minister of the Gospel, who later performed the marriage of Mary's sister Lucy "Ann," led the Graver nuptials in Perry County. Evidence suggests that Mary may have died within a few years of marriage. A man named "Isaac Graver" (1846- ? ) of Perry County married on March 28, 1875, to Rachel M. Bugh (1849- ? ) , daughter of Michael Bugh. Isaac and Rachel are shown together on the federal census of the county in 1880, but no record of Mary has yet been found in that enumeration. These guesses need to be confirmed. Isaac and Rachel are believed to have migrated to Mattoon, Coles County, IL, where they are shown on the 1900 federal census.
