Jasper Schofield was born on Aug. 7, 1853, at Mt. Perry, Perry County, OH, the son of Joseph and Mary (Danison) Schofield.
Little is known of his life and untimely death.
He was a farmer and apparently never married.
In 1880, when the federal census was taken, Jasper made his home with his parents and brothers, laboring on their farm.
At the age of 30, Jasper died on Sept. 14, 1883, of causes unknown. He is buried in the family plot at the Mt. Perry Methodist Church, where he later was joined in eternal rest by his parents.
