Catharine (Sturtz) Horschmann Palmerton is reputed to have been born on June 30, 1818 in Oldtown, Allegany County, MD, the daughter of Jacob and Susanna (Gaumer) Sturtz.

She is believed to have been twice married. Her first spouse was (?) Horschmann ( ? - ? ).
On May 28, 1842, she married again to Morgan L. Palmerton (1814- ? ). A record of this union was published in the Oct. 17, 1907 edition of the Coshocton (OH) Weekly Times, with her maiden name spelled "Gammin."
Catharine may have passed away in 1890, but this is not yet confirmed.
