History of the Central
Ohio Conference

Dear Sister Clark & family

As I am alone and thinking of dear friends you are among the first to come to my mind and I must say, My heart aches to see you. and I have longed more than once to see your dear faces since I left you. I presume you think that you are forgotten because I have not written. but this is not true. We frequently speak of you and enjoy talking about the frequent visits we used to make at your place. O how I wish we could have that privilege again of visiting each other. I never thought you came to see me as often as you might. and if we had known that we were going to be seperated so soon we would have done better by each other wouldn't we? I dont know come to think I believe I came every chance I got to come to your house. But indeed I never was there but that I enjoyed myself the very best kind.

O I wish you could visit us here, we are fixed much better than we were there. got a great many new things and could entertain you nicely. if you will visit us we will promise to do all that is in our power, to have you enjoy yourselves.

'Our goods did not come for over two months after they left Galt. And when they did come we were in a meeting at McCutchenville 4 miles from here. The result of our meeting was 60 conversions and accessions to the church.'

Well May Morris is married at last. she is now Mrs Shiply. They were married Feb 2nd at Trenton. The following Monday night the ladies of Ramona surprised Mrs and Mr  E.P. Shipley by calling upon them and making several wedding presents. I would like so much to see May. And I expect she would like to here from me. I have not answered her last letter and rec'd it before she was married.

But I have been undergoing so many changes. Our new field of labor has taken so much of my time that indeed letter writing has been quite out of the question. Our goods did not come for over two months after they left Galt. And when they did come we were in a meeting at McCutchenville 4 miles from here. The result of our meeting was 60 conversions and accessions to the church. some more that went into the Presbyterian. There were 34 united with that church. Mar 13th Mr Newcomb commenced a meeting at Lovell. Sabbath night. Cecil and I have been alone all week. Cecil says tell auntie to come over to my house and see me quick. You would be surprised to know how well she remembers you all. please do write to us at an early date. Tell me where Heillur is I want to write to her and tell her how much comfort I take looking at that handsome mat. Remember me to all. Love from all to all.

Your affectionate friend
Mrs J. F. Newcomb
