Pattern: Hunting Quilt
Quilter: Armena (Cain) Miner Marshall

This patchwork quilt was fashioned by the late Armena (Cain) Miner-Marshall of Washington, Washington County, PA for use on hunting trips by her grandson Douglas Schultz Sr. At the 2005 National Minerd-Minard-Miner-Minor Reunion, where this quilt was shown and photographed, Doug remarked that while he did not appreciate it at the time, his grandmother put her love for him into every stitch in the work. Armena had a rule -- her quilts were to be used, not kept as museum pieces, and Doug happily complied. Doug is the son of the late Jessie (Miner) Schultz, also of Washington.
