Presley Twining France stands third adult from left on this flatbed logging railcar in near Stanton, MI circa 1900. The son of John and Rhoda (Van Horn) France, Presley worked as a teamster in the logging industry in Michigan for several years before returning to his farm in Continental, Putnam County, OH. Later, circa 1918, he moved his entire family to Michigan, settling in Michigan Center. His grandson Earl T. Steiner has written a memoir about Presley's farm, entitled Grampa France, Michigan Center, as well as other memoirs about this family, including Beginning and and A Life's Resume.
