Well this leaves us all Well. and hope it will find you the same. The rest have all gon to sundy school. I told them that I was going to stay at home and write to you. this is a nice warm day and the old hens are making a terible fuss. I dont know what is the matter with them. I would like to be up thare today. I could talk better than I can write. but I guess I will just have to write being I aint thare. Well we got back from Oak all write. left Uncle Jims all well and left dick down thare. he hierd out for a month. will be up next month hierd to Uncle Jim. Uncle Jim is up here tending Court. staid here last night. thay do a good deal of bloing on that country but it is not one bit better than this is. ant lid look poor and bad. she is just working herself to death. thay live in a log house in the timber. Nelie has a claim and so has frank. thare is no timber on therse.
Pa has not had the grip yet. I thought I had it but dont know wother I did or not. thare was quartley meeting here last wensday . We had a housefull as usal. I mean at our hous. not at the school house. You was complaining about dick not writing. I will tell you write now he is an afful poor hand to write. he will keep putting it of from time to time.
Well hellen, I will haft to tell you the joke thay got on me while down to uncle jims. Carie and I got in the buggie and went over to the indian camp and we wer looking at some of ther mockines and trying to talk to them but could not talk or buy eny thing of them. so we sarted away and just as we started one of the old squas jumped on the back of the buggie and began to teter it up and down and while I was looking at her thare was a little poppuse come up in front of the horse and I did not see it and run over it. so I was in for a muss. Well the squa said oh poppuse and ran and picked it up and ran in the teepie with it and then one of the old bucks came out and ran around on the side of the buggie and struck out at me but I knocked his blow off and then he grabed me by the arm and came very near getting me out of the buggie but I was a little to quick for him. I hit the horse a lick and jerked away from him. and away we wint. and then he went and got an arrow and shot at us. but we wer too far off for him to reach us. so we got off all wright. Now wasent that a good joke on us. I guess he would have gave me a good thrasing if he had of got me.
Well as Jennie wants to write some and I guess this is all the paper we have I will stop now. Write soon and tell all of the news as you have more to write about than we have.

Dear Aunt, Uncle and cousins,
I will try and ans your welcome letter that I rec. some time ago. I intended to have ans yours right away but Grandpa said for me to wait until Late come home from Oklahoma and we have just neglected it so I hope you will pardon us and we will try and do better next time. Well this leaves us all well. I guess Late has told you all the news he has told you of his Indian fight and that takes up a good bit of room. Well aunt Helen I do not care for such a scolding as you gave me for it is not my falt that you do not get any more letters than you do. Our school is out now and I do not have to go any more this winter. you asked if Billie Green made his home here. he is for the present. he has been helping Late husk corn. they went to Oklahoma and left part of their corn out in the field. Well as my paper is about full I will have to close for this time as Mabel wants to write some to Ross and Blanche and I have to help her write. hoping to hear from you soon.
I remain as ever your niece
Jen
