1970

The 41st annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 26th, 1970 at the Mountain Fellowship Center along Route 40 – 16 mi. east of Uniontown, Pa. The meeting was opened with prayer by our President Charles Harbaugh. There were several readings by Cliff Harbaugh. The was moved and seconded that we reserve the fellowship center for the Fourth Sunday in July of 1971. Mr. & Mrs. Ted Harbaugh were chosen again to purchase amusements for the children. Oscar Harbaugh was selected to purchase the 7 awards to be given annually. It was decided that a set time of 12:30 should be lunch time. A token gift of $1.00 was given to Minnie Gary who arrived after the awards were given out. She would have won for Oldest Lady.

1971

 

New marker for Casper

The 42nd annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 25th, 1971 at the Mountain Fellowship Center east of Uniontown along route 40. The meeting was opened by President Chas. Harbaugh and a prayer offered by Lloyd Hall Sr., our Vice President. Reading of minutes by Cliff Harbaugh were OK. Edgar Ream was appointed as a one man committee to see about a new Granite marker for the Grave site of Casper Harbaugh, approx. cost of $100 installed without epitaph. Original marker to be laid at foot of gravesite. $116.32 was collected at this reunion.

[Dorothy Laughery read a letter from Isabelle Ream concerning a request from the Harbaugh family to contribute money toward the replacement of the tombstone of Casper Harbaugh, who was the great, great, grandfather of Art and Willis Laughery.  This particular grave is located in the New Centerville, PA. Buck Thompson made a motion that our reunion group send twenty dollars to Isabelle Ream to pay our part.  The motion was carried by the group with only one opposing.  Twenty dollars cash was given to that day by our new treasurer Linda Vincent to Dorothy Laughery.  An extra five dollars was donated by Dorothy Laughery  which was appreciated by the family.  A total of twenty five dollars was to be forwarded to Isabelle Ream by Dorothy Laughery."]

Moved that reunion be held at Mt. Fellowship center be the site of our 1972 reunion. Same lunch time at 12:30. Any ties for awards in the future – one will receive the gift and the other the price of the gift. This will be decided by one of each party guessing a number chosen by the President. Dale & Carol Harbaugh were selected to purchase the 7 awards given out annually. Amusement for kiddies is to be taken care of by Roger & Cheryl Harbaugh. Charles Harbaugh was voted in as President again. Clifford Harbaugh was elected as Vice President. Oscar Harbaugh was voted in as the new Sec. Treas. The secretary treasurer will issue a check for the amount of the Casper Harbaugh marker – after completed bill of marker and after all donations are received.

The 43rd annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 23rd, 1972 at the Mountain Fellowship Center east of Uniontown along Route 40. The meeting was opened by President Charles Harbaugh and a prayer offered by Lloyd Hall Sr. Reading of the minutes by Oscar Harbaugh OK. Moved that reunion be held at the Mountain Fellowship Center be the site of our 1973 reunion. Which will be the 4th Sunday in July. Same lunch time 12:30 pm. Mrs. Mable Ream was selected to purchase the 7 awards to be given out annually. Amusements for kiddies is to be taken care of by Mrs. Marlene Schnatterly.

The 46th annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 27, 1975 at the Mountain Fellowship Center east of Uniontown along Route 40. The meeting was opened by Charles Harbaugh, President. A prayer was offered by Lloyd Hall Sr. at lunch time. Reading of the minutes by Oscar Harbaugh OK. Moved that the reunion be held at the Mountain Fellowship Center be the site of our 1976 reunion, which will be held on the 4th Sunday of July. Same lunch time 12:30 pm. It was moved that the officers will take care of the 7 annual awards to be given out. It also was moved that instead of getting gifts we would give cash awards in place of gifts. Game for the children is to be taken care of by Deloris Harbaugh.

A prayer was given by Uncle Lloyd Hall Sr. at lunch time. Reading of the minutes by Oscar Harbaugh were OK. Moved that the reunion be held at the Mountain Fellowship Center be the same site of our 1978 reunion. Which will be held on the 4th Sunday of July. Same lunch time 12:30 pm. The officers will be in charge of the 7 annual awards to be given out - $5.00 each – instead of gifts. Games for the children will be taken care of by Deloris Harbaugh.

The 49th annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 23, 1978 at the Mountain Fellowship Center east of Uniontown along Route 40. The meeting was opened by Charles Harbaugh, President. A prayer was given by Uncle Lloyd Hall at lunch time. Reading of the minutes by Oscar Harbaugh were OK by Charles Harbaugh and Uncle Lloyd Hall. Moved that the reunion be held at the Mountain Fellowship Center be the same site of our 1979 reunion. Which will be held on the 4th Sunday of July. Same lunch time 12:30 pm. A motion was made and approved that postcards be sent to heads of house only. A guessing game by Charles Harbaugh at 25 cents per guess to see how many marbles was in the jar. It brought in $7.75 which was turned over to the Harbaugh Fund. Winner of the game was Chris Harbaugh. 132 marbles were in the jar. Chris guessed 135. The officers will be in charge of the 7 annual awards to be given out at $5.00 each, instead of gifts. Games for the children will be taken care of by Ilene Younkin for 1979.

1979

The 50th annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 22, 1979 at the Mountain Fellowship Center east of Uniontown along Route 40. The meeting was opened by President Charles Harbaugh. A prayer was given by Uncle Lloyd Hall before lunch time. Reading of the minutes by Oscar Harbaugh were OK by Charles Harbaugh and Uncle Lloyd Hall. Moved that the reunion be held at the Mountain Fellowship Center for 1980, which will be held on July 27, 1980. Same lunch time 12:30 pm. A guessing game at 25 cents per guess by Oscar Harbaugh to see how many pennies were in a 3 lb. Coffee can was won by Ricky Litton. There were 4,500 in can. He guessed 4,650. This brought $6.65 which was turned over to the Harbaugh Fund. Vice President Betty Lou Harbaugh made a motion to put food together and eat like one big happy family. Cliff Harbaugh gave a few poems. Julie Schnatterly gave a speech about the 50th reunion. No old business. The officers will be in charge of the awards to be given out. Games for the children will be taken care of by Sue Moon for 1980.
