The 40th Laughery Reunion of the family of David Leander Laughery and Martha Jane Harbaugh was held on Sunday, Aug. 22 2004, at Wilmer Park in Chestertown, MD, hosted by Steve and Janice Winand and Keith and Mary Ann Winand. Forty-two members were in attendance.

The weather was sunny, cool and pleasant. The park gives a lovely view of the Chester River. President Keith Winand welcomed everyone and requested a moment of silence for our deceased members. Ron Case gave the blessing, and everyone enjoyed good food prepared by all of the family cooks. After dinner, Keith called the meeting to order and had everyone introduce their families that were present.

New members were Terran. Bobby Thompson’s grandchild born on March 24, 2004 and Trista Strong born on Nov 19th, 2003. Recent deaths in the family were Alvin Thompson, Dec. 19th, 2003, Harold Laughery, Nov. 27, 2003, and Vickie Messick, March 26, 2004.

Keith requested that each family pay $5.00 membership dues to cover the cost of the park rental and office postage etc. Nineteen families contributed a total of $95. Our balance was $155.00 from which was paid $75 for park rental and $20 for postage and office expense leaving a balance of $60.

Bridgette Laughery will host the 2005 Reunion to be held at the home of David and Vicki Laughery in Seaford, DE on the 3^rd Sat. in Aug. at 2:00pm.
