The 43rd Laughery Reunion of the family of David Leander Laughery and Martha Jane Harbaugh was held on Saturday, August 18th, 2007, at the home of Rell and Dayna Winand, in West Chester, PA. Thirty-six members were present.

We were blessed with beautiful weather, clear with temperature in the med 70’s and low humidity. The Winands have a beautiful yard with pool which many enjoyed. President Tim Douglas welcomed everyone and had a moment of silence for our deceased members. Ron Case gave the blessing and every one enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs prepared by Rell on the grill. As always, there were plenty of good side dishes and desserts to enjoy.

After the meal was over and everyone had a chance to visit, Tim held our business meeting. We thanked Rell and Dayna for hosting the reunion and Ron read last year’s minutes. There was one correction for the year. There was a balance of $82.00 from last year from which $20 was paid for postage leaving a balance of $62. No dues were collected this year.

The same officers will serve next year.

In addition, Susie and Nancy will prepare some games for the children. Rell and Dayna offered to again host the reunion next year. Since there were some new members present, introductions were made.

Loretta, Clayton, and Ron and Peggy attended the Minerd reunion on the 16th and 17th of June in Indian Head, PA. We were able to visit the graves of Mary Magdalene Whipkey Harbaugh and David Harbaugh, the parents of Martha Jane Harbaugh Laughery. Much more information about the distant family members was shared.

There was one death in the family, Richard (Shady) Lane, husband of Linda Vincent Lane. Linda shared information in reference to the Lane Building, a memorial to Shady. 

The 44th annual reunion will be held about the same time of year, the exact day and date to be decided by our hosts, Rell and Dayna Winand.
