The eleventh annual reunion of the descendants of Martha Harbaugh and David Laughery was held at the summer home of Mrs. Ruth Laughery, in Lewes on Sunday, August 17th. Members and guests enjoyed a picnic lunch and home made ice cream and cake. A special cake was made for Karen Case of Newark who celebrated her 19th birthday. After lunch, a prayer was led by Ronald Case, president of the reunion. The minutes were read and the treasurer’s report was given by sec-tres, Nancy Thompson. The past year a drawing of the family tree was begun by Nancy Thompson and Dorothy and Willis Laughery helping. William J. Means volunteered to help fill in information and make copies for each family. The family has been traced back to 1733, when Casper Harbaugh was born in Germany, then in 1742 he came to America. Two books have been published, one in 1879 by Rev. Henry Harbaugh and another 1947 by Cora Belle Harbaugh Cropesider and son.
Pictures and tape recordings were taken for future reunions. The next reunion will be at near Farmington, Del. at the home of Dorothy and Willis Laughery. “The Home Place” Respectfully submitted, Nancy Thompson Guests attending the 1975 reunion:
