The ninth annual reunion of the descendants of David Leander Laughery and Martha Jane Harbaugh was held on August 19, 1973 at the home of Art and Kathryn Laughery at “Gobbler’s Knob” in Greenwood, DE.

The day was sunny and very comfortable.  The forty four guests enjoyed the home-cooked foods and homemade ice cream and cakes and pies.  Before the party was over, sweaters and coats had to be put on because of the chill in the evening air. The business meeting was conducted with Loretta Downes acting President, Secretary and Treasurer in the absence of JoAnn, Debbie, and Linda.  New officers were elected as follows;

• President - Ronald Case

• Secretary - Nancy Thompson

And it was decided to let the secretary keep the treasurer’s book along with the minute book. It was decided to hold the 1974 reunion at the home of Gene and Jeanette Passwaters with everyone bringing along their swimsuits and fishing poles to take advantage of their lovely pool and pond. During the last year Stephen Winand married on July 21 to Karen Sue Hoffman. Also, Linda Kay Vincent was married on August 11 to William Webb. The entertainment was conducted by Ruth and Linda Wilkerson.

• Person taking the latest bath - Tom and Jill Finkbiner
• Door prize - Lois Winand
• Tallest - Buck Thompson

• Longest ponytail - Susie Thompson
• Person breaking the most chairs - Jack Wilkerson and his prize-wet pants
